Does Microsoft back up my data?
No, and this catches a lot of teams out. Microsoft guarantees the availability of the service. Your data inside it is your responsibility. A deleted mailbox or an encrypted SharePoint site is something you restore from your own backup, or rebuild from nothing.
Which Microsoft 365 plan do we need?
It depends on whether you need desktop apps, advanced security and device management. Business Premium is the plan most Australian SMBs land on because it is the first tier with the security controls. We will map it against your actual requirements rather than upsell you.
How long does a migration take?
Planning takes two to four weeks. The cutover itself is typically a four hour window, run out of business hours.
Will there be downtime?
Migrations are run in tested waves with a rollback position at every stage. Our typical cutover is out of hours and users arrive to a working mailbox.
Is our data stored in Australia?
Microsoft 365 tenants provisioned for Australian customers use Australian data centre geography for core workloads. We will confirm your specific tenant configuration as part of the assessment.

Microsoft looks after uptime. Your data is still your problem. We back up Microsoft 365 with Keepit, so mailboxes, files, Teams conversations and SharePoint sites can be brought back if they are deleted or encrypted, including a site somebody deleted six months ago.
